Take A #FamilyRoadTrip In The #ChevyTraverse

With the summer here, it is time to get the family loaded up and take a much needed family vacation! I remember when I was a kid, summer meant the season of the road trips. We would get in the car and drive to those spots that my parents picked out, that may or may not have had meaning, and we would make memories along the way. Well, now that I have my own kids, I have my time to do the same. We started off our summer early by taking a family road trip over the Memorial Weekend to New Mexico. We love traveling to New Mexico for so many reasons. There are many spots to stop at and let the kids explore, lots of trails to take off on and we also have family there. This years first family road trip of the season was a sponsored one, and we were able to take the trip in an amazing Chevy Traverse! One of our plans for our vacation in New Mexico was to camp at the lake near my parents house, so we had to pack up all of our camping gear along with all of the rest of our luggage and baby gear as well. We found the room the in the Chevy Traverse to be perfect and very accommodating for our family of 5! We were able to get all of our camping gear, our luggage, a car seat, toys, baby gear which included a all terrain stroller and a hiking backpack child carrier for the trails, and everyone was able to ride very comfortably on our 8 hour trip!

Aside from all of the room, let me just say the seats are comfortable! I mean, I have had heated seats in vehicles before but cooled seats, now that is nice, especially during the summer! You know when you are on a family road trip or in the car on a hot day, and your bottom gets sweaty and sticks to the seats, well, you do not have that issue any longer. In the 2013 Chevy Traverse, both the driver and front passenger have both heated and cooled seat options, and let me tell you, on a long road trip during the hot summer, those cooled seats made everything that much better! Another thing that both my husband and I really thought was neat, but I was unable to get a good picture of was the night lighting in the front dashboard. During the day, it appears to be chrome that lines your dashboard, but at night there is this awesome blue light that comes through, and it really is neat. I also liked the Bose stereo system , which when the kids were sleeping and I plugged in my iPod to the dock on the top, came through the speakers so crisp. My husband and I really enjoyed the front seat experience with the room, as well as the rear camera, which is really good to have especially when you have kids. I love that it turns on automatically when you go into reverse so that you can see what is behind you. For the driver and front seat passenger you also have many great safety features with the airbags that are not only in the doors and wheel but also in the seat.

As for the kids, lets just say, sure we heard the famous, “Are we there yet?” line numerous times, but that was to be expected. I did appreciate the room the kids had, so they could relax and rest on the trip, and with the in car entertainment, they were able to keep themselves occupied even when we were stuck in traffic! The kids also really liked having the air control throughout the back of the vehicle, so they could control whether they wanted cool air on them or not, which made the sleeping the Traverse very nice for the kids.

We had an amazing family road trip and the Chevy Traverse made for a great choice for a family vehicle! With a 22 gallon fuel tank, and 24 miles to the gallon on the highway, the Chevy Traverse is a ideal choice when heading out this summer for your family road trips!

This was not a paid post. I was given a Chevy Traverse to test drive for one week in exchange for the review. All opinions are my own.

Very nice and I love the air control. We have that in our vehicle and it makes things so great. Having the extra room to move and not be all cramped is so important with kids.

So glad that your family was able to have a nice vacation together! Is has been so many years for us I cannot remember. The Traverse looks like a great sized vehicle ~ not too big, not too small. We have a Chevy Venture and love it. Chevy does make great autos!
