My daughter is a huge American Girl fan and every year she looks forward to the new girls that are added to the collection of dolls as well as the new books! Like the other girls from the American Girl collection, McKenna is a girl that offers an amazing story along with inspiration to girls from all walks of life. This year, McKenna was introduced to the world as the girl of the year, and along with the doll that was released earlier this year and the two great books that have come out to tell her story, we also enjoyed the new and recent release of the new movie that stars McKenna!! The movie is called McKenna Shoots for the Stars, and it is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD to take home and watch with your American Girl fans! We were sent the new movie, and just like the books and the dolls, my daughter has been very pleased with the movie!!! The story of McKenna is one that a lot of girls can relate to. McKenna is a girl who is shooting for perfection in the world of gymnastics. In fact she is so set on her goal to be the best, that she finds herself needing help with her school work. She ends up getting a tutor and thinks that having a tutor is something to be embarrassed about. On top of her school work slipping, she also gets hurt in the gym and is unable to train and push herself like she was used to doing. To McKenna, she finds these mishaps to be ones that could be the worst things to happen to her, or so she thinks. She finds that things are not all that bad and that these mishaps are things that happen in life and obstacles that she can overcome. These things that have happened are things that she will get past, but as she learns, she will have to take it one day at a time and in the end she will be able to once again see those goals she set just in her reach. In order to get past these obstacles, she must find it in her to come clean and reach out to her friends, tell them the truth and accept the help and support that her friend have to offer. The new movie An American Girl , McKenna Shoots for the Stars was a very good movie and one that my daughter has found as a new favorite, and the amazing people from American Girl would like to send a copy of this great new movie to one of my wonderful readers!
