I am not one that is big on creepy crawly things, but with a boy, I kinda have to get over it. It has not been easy for me, but I am learning to just deal with it. My daughter on the other hand, will not have anything to do with creepy crawlies, which in turn just makes her an easy target for my son. For my sons birthday he got a bag full of little plastic bugs, and he loved them. He would put them in my daughters room or throw them at her, just so he could get a kick out of watching her freak out every time. So when I was offered some HEXBUG Nanos to review, I thought to myself, my son would really like these. I did not think about the fact that they would be another torture devise for him to use on my daughter. When they came in, my son was ecstatic. He went in the kitchen and watched them run on the floor. He loves the HEXBUG’s. You would think that he would use these little bugs against his sister, but that is not the case. He is too worried about loosing them or her doing something to them, to use them against her. At least for the time being. So for now he is enjoying his little bugs that run around on the floor. He enjoys watching the cats go after them. I think it is so cute, because he will laugh hysterically at the cats when they chase the bugs. These little robotic creatures are pretty neat. They scurry around on the floor like real bugs. They can even flip themselves over when they get put on their back. My son is only 3, but he loves these bugs. He loves watching them. I love them because they are not the real bugs that he could bring in that get away, then get loose in the house. Then pop out when I am doing dishes or going to the bathroom. No, these are little toy bugs that can be turned off and put away, and in my book, they are ok!! With the HEXBUG you can track your collection of bugs online, play games, and learn about real science!! So not only do you get a cool bug to watch and play with, but your kids can learn and play games with their bug as well!!

I didn't even think about letting our cat play with them. I'm going to have to try that. My 12 yr old son still loves his Hexbugs. They are such cool little bugs.
I may have to get some of these for the boy I care for. His birthday's coming up….and I love toys that don't come in 689 pieces!
Too sci-fi for me.
