This year in school, it was brought to our attention, that my daughter needed to be seen by a eye doctor. This news was kinda of a shocker. I know that it is common for kids to need glasses, but I didnt need glasses until I was in my early 20’s. So my thinking was that my seven year old daughter was too young to be needing glasses. As you can imagine, taking her to the doctor to get her eyes checked was kinda intimidating for me. I was very nervous. The teacher had told us that Estrella was falling behind in her reading and she seemed to be a little dyslexic. I was shocked because the year before in kindergarten, Estrella was top of her class and was reading and writing. Then I started to think about it and she can read and spell, but when she writes, her letters and words are backwards. And the teacher explained that it was effecting her reading as well. So yes, I was very nervous at the eye doctor with my daughter, but I also wanted to find out what we could do to help her. To my relief, the doctor said that she was a little far sighted. Then when he gave us the prescription, he explained that she would only need to wear the glasses when reading or writing. Well once I told Estrella’s dad he had me take her to get her first pair of glasses. She ended up getting a pair that was more expensive then the two pairs of glasses I own put together. Not the best idea when getting a seven year old girl her first pair of glasses. And in less than two weeks, I was not too surprised when I found her glasses outside and partially eaten by the dogs. We did insure her glasses so we went back and got a different pair. But let me tell you, if I dont ask her for her glasses right after she has done her homework, we will be on a hunt for them. She has lost them a few times since she got these new ones, so when I was asked to do a review for 39 Dollar Glasses, I knew what I had to do. Get that girl a second pair of glasses!!!! Now I have shopped online for glasses for myself, but I have not looked for glasses for my daughter. I love the selection of the kids glasses they have over at 39 Dollar Glasses. Once I had selected the glasses, I was able to enter my daughters prescription in then go to check out! When the glasses came in, my daughter was impressed and so was I. These glasses were perfect! We had spent several hours looking for a pair of glasses for my daughter at the store, and I only spent a few minutes online. Estrella has chosen to make these new glasses her daily wear and her other ones the back up pair, lol. So the pair that was less than half the price of the glasses she had are the ones she likes best!
